Pea Pod Paper & Gifts Giveaway Winner Announced & The Scoop on Lilly Furniture!

Wow, is it really almost Memorial Day already? Time to clean out the closets! I need to do a major clean out to make room for my New Lilly Pulitzer Furniture!! I'll be going through every closet, jewelry box and Tote (yes, I have totes I still haven't unpacked since moving to Florida!)and will be posting all of it on Re-Lilly and The Pink Closet
Are you doing a Memorial Day/Spring Closet Clean out? For the quickest sale on your unwanted items send them in to be listed for sale on Re-Lilly & The Pink Closet Re-Cycled Fashions! Re-Lilly continues to be the BIGGEST, BEST and fastest place to sell your Lilly Pulitzer!
So I've had a ton of people messaging and emailing me asking where I bought my Lilly Pulitzer furniture. See my Lilly Pulitzer furniture haul below!

Top Left: Tangiers Bed in Scorched Bamboo Retail $2,200
Top Right & Lower Right: O'Hara Bar Cart Retail $1500
Lower Left: Pink Boulevard Chair Retail $859

A little back story..... HFI Brands produced the Lilly Pulitzer furniture line. I had my eye on the Aster Bedroom Set (Bed, Vanity, Mirror and bureau), the Boulevard Chair (to go with the vanity) and the O'Hara Bar Cart but couldn't justify the hefty price tags for furniture I didn't "need". When I heard HFI Brands had Closed and was no longer making the Lilly Pulitzer furniture I was a little sad to think I would never get to own Lilly furniture.
Then a Lilly friend (Thank you Melonie C.!) had shared with me that a discounter in Jacksonville, Florida had some Lilly furniture for sale! Jax is a 5 hour drive from where I live in SW Florida and I don't own a vehicle large enough to carry a lot of furniture, so what's a Lilly Obsessed girl desperate for Lilly furniture to do? Rent a big truck and drive 10 hours!! After pricing UHaul Rentals, Truck Rentals, Freight Shippers,Gas costs etc. I determined it was most economical to rent a large truck and spend the money on gas and time driving myself to get this Lilly furniture!! I had called and the discounter does not ship, cash and carry only. After chatting with other Lilly Lovers earlier this week I embarked on this adventure and was lucky enough to meet another wonderful Lilly Lover there! I got to meet Mica, co-owner of Mica and Molly's in Melbourne, FL! <<<Click to visit her website.
If you are looking for Lilly and want excellent service check out Mica and Molly's! I look forward to visiting her store the next time I am in the Melbourne area (side note, this beautiful area is home to one of our favorite Zoos, The Brevard County Zoo, where my Minnie loves to feed the giraffes!).

The name of the discount store is Viktor's Payless & Groceries, a Salvage, Furniture & Grocery Store, think Big Lots or Ocean State Job Lots type of store. The place was hysterical, everything from pink Tic Tacs to cleaning supplies and groceries. The owner Viktor was fabulous to deal with. We literally arrived in the nick of time. We were taken to a nearby neighborhood to a warehouse where the Lilly furniture was kept. Viktor's phone was ringing off the hook with others desperate for Lilly furniture and people came into the store and bought his last 5 Boulevard chairs while I was there.
Viktor explained that HFI Brands assets were seized and all the goods were sold at auction where he bought several hundred pieces of each style, 500 of the Boulevard chairs! He had designers and decorators from Miami, Palm Beach, Boca and all over buying 20-80 pieces each. The furniture flew out the door, literally! The Boulevard Chairs were $150 each, the Bar Carts were $99 each, all have sold out. Don't despair, he still has King & Queen beds for $698 and Twin beds $598. Also still for sale is the white etagere for $298. Viktor asked me to share these items with other Lilly Lovers on Re-Lilly. See photos below
etagere $298

Tangiers Queen Bed $698

Tangiers Twin Bed $598

I tried to get a side view, but was difficult because it was cramped in the store but the detail on these beds is gorgeous!
Viktor and his employees were fabulous, they loaded my furniture for me and then strapped it down  for my long drive home.

The only other negative besides a 10 hour drive was the love bugs! ICK!!!  Florida love bug season stinks! You can't easily wash these buggers off your vehicle. I stopped several times at gas stations and didn't have much luck getting them off. By the time I got home I could barely see out of the windshield. Thank goodness this is a rental and I don't have to wash it! Love bugs are a small price to pay to live in paradise! A small price to pay for Lilly furniture.

What a fun Lilly adventure! Next Lilly adventure for me is the Lilly Warehouse Sale! Are you planning to attend the Lilly Warehouse Sale? An event for Warehouse Sale Discussions has been set up on Re-Lilly, here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/events/132385576947081/

NEW GIVEAWAY TO CELEBRATE 6000 Fans!~ 5000 Fan Giveaway Winner Announced ~ Warehouse Sale Details ~

Hello Readers!

Everyone probably wants to know who won the 5000 Fan Giveaway right?! I'll get to that shortly! Sorry for the delays, seems to be the story of my life lately! I was delayed in posting the 5000 Giveaway while my Minnie was sick in the hospital and hoped to get back on track but haven't been able to do so.
I truly have too much on my plate!

We did make it to the June Lilly Warehouse Sale. I was nervous about traveling 7+ hours by car with Miss Olivia but her doctors gave the go ahead.

After 7+ hours in the car Olivia patiently waited in line at The Valley Forge Convention Center while we waited for a number for the Lilly Warehouse Sale. We saw some familiar Lilly Loving faces from Re-Lilly while we waited and made some new Lilly friends.
As you can see the wait line was very long!

Shortly after 6pm Lilly employees handed out numbers and we were #293, the highest number I have ever received, but still thrilled to have a number for the morning!

We then headed to Bahama Breeze Restaurant to meet up with other Lilly Lovers from Re-Lilly for dinner & cocktails.
We were thrilled to meet up with Re-Lilly friends. There was no Bahama Breeze in this near 90 degree heat and even though we felt like we were melting we had fun!

I wish we had more time to visit with these wonderful ladies! It had been a long day and we were tired and Olivia had started to complain her belly was hurting which scared me after the recent hospitalization. I tried not to panic and chalked it up to the long drive and the heat.
My poor baby was up sick most of the night with tummy issues so neither of us slept much. I slept about 1.5-2 hours as we had to be back in line at 4:30 am. I told Olivia we would skip the sale and rest and she threw a fit saying she felt much better so I told her we would try and if she wasn't feeling well we were going back to our hotel room.
So we got in line and enjoyed chatting with other Lilly Lovers and enjoyed reading these fun signs!
This was how the line looked at 4:30-5:00 am.
The line went quickly and we got through the doors shortly after 5:30 and and shopped until we dropped, literally!
We scored lots of great deals! We were a little sad we couldn't find more matching items but very pleased with all the beautiful Lillys we found.
After another long wait in line for the dressing room area we tried on a pile of Lillys. This is Olivia's favorite part of the Sale! She loves to try on new Lilly dresses and twirl! In the dressing area she was smiles and giggles while she danced and sang songs and modeled all the dresses she picked out. She received many compliments for being so well behaved and for being so entertaining and adorable. We have even received notes from Lilly employees that worked the sale to say how adorable she was in the dressing area. You never would have guessed this child had just been so ill. Unfortunately a few hours at the sale was enough and Olivia's tummy started to hurt again so I took her back up to our room where we laid down to rest.

She still was not well but said she wanted to try eating so we went for lunch at Nordstrom's Cafe (King of Prussia Mall- we love this place!) and then some shopping in the Lilly King of Prussia store where we found more Lilly bargains!
This photo was taken by Olivia at the KOP Lilly Store. She loves to take pictures! Not bad for 4 years old :-)

Here Olivia is modeling/dancing in the KOP Lilly Store window. She was having fun making faces through the window at Re-Lillyers (Andrea & her Mom), wish I had snapped a photo of that but was chatting with the sales associate.
My Tiny Dancer. While we were here I was asked by shoppers if she ever stops smiling and the answer is No! She is such a happy smiling sweetheart. My philosophy is that smiling makes you feel good. Happy girls are pretty girls. When we see someone without a smile we give them ours :-)

Olivia saying "Good-Bye" to the turtle and giving one last hug as we left.
After we left the store she started to feel ill again :( The symptoms she had when she was hospitalized returned so we quickly checked out of the hotel and headed back home. We were supposed to stay in KOP at the Sale through Friday night and also have her portraits done but I didn't want to take chances and be in PA on a Friday so far from her doctors/specialist so I put her in the car and raced for home. I won't go into details but having a child sick with stomach/intestinal issues in the car for 7+ hours was not fun! Trying to make Emergency stops was a challenge in traffic and she almost didn't make it while we were stuck in traffic coming through NYC on the GW Bridge. Through CT we hit very bad storms, took over 8 hours but we made it home. Poor DH was not so lucky and got stuck at the NJ airport due to the storms and flight cancellations.
We have followed up with Olivia's doctors/specialists and they thing she may have Ulcerative Collitis (UC) triggered by the e coli poisoning. I don't usually give a ton of personal information out on my blog but will share that I suffer from UC, not a fun disease, not curable but treatable. I try to look on the bright side and feel blessed it is not something terminal and I do my best to deal with it and minimize flares. I hope & pray that Olivia does not have it but she is at a greater risk because I have it and because of the e coli poisoning. So now we wait and see if she has more flare-ups like she had in PA at the Warehouse Sale and continue to get tests. Please say a prayer for my sweetheart <3 She without a doubt is LILYS BIGGEST LITTLE FAN! Miss Olivia is still upset with me for leaving the Lilly Warehouse Sale early, LOL. We look forward to the next sale and hope to meet up with Re-Lillyers again. The Bahama Breeze re-Lilly dinner was our favorite part of this trip.

After countless visits to every specialty store within a 20 mile radius, I called my friend and told her we were out of luck; I just couldn't find exactly the right card for the combination birthday party we were throwing together for her son Connor and my daughter Grace. At midnight, that same evening, I decided to convert one of my fave photos to black and white; then, add color accents to create a sweet invitation that differed from the norm. Even at such a late hour, I was excited about my newfound craft! For Peeps Sake! A BIG Surprise Inside & $150 My Pink & Green Garden Lilly Winner Announced!

Hello Peeps!

This post is packed with surprises and exciting

things I can't wait to share with all of you!

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter Holiday! Easter is one of my favorite holidays as it symbolizes rebirth of life. Here in the Northeast I enjoy watching all the plants and flowers come back to life, seeing the empty branches bud with leaves and bulbs begin to bloom. It has been a long hard winter here. We got snow the day before Easter! We still have a little snow in the yard, hard to believe considering Easter came so late this year!

I spent part of Easter planning a warm weather getaway to Hilton Head Island and counting down the days....24 until HHI! If anyone has tips for the HHI area I would love to hear them!

Our family Easter traditions include a visit to the Easter Bunny, coloring Easter eggs, crafts and marshmallow Peeps! What are some of your Easter traditions?

My Minnie wearing one of her favorite Lilly Pulitzer dresses from The Joggling Board to visit the Easter Bunny! She fell in love with the stuffed Peep in this photo. Information below on how to purchase these Peeps!

My Minnie proudly displaying one of her pink Easter eggs she colored

We hunted through all the local grocery stores for white eggs that are Cage-Free, without growth hormones or antibiotics. I had no idea it would be impossible to find them for coloring Easter eggs because we usually buy brown organic eggs that are cage free without hormones and antibiotics. I can no longer support factory farms and the unethical treatment of animals in addition to being concerned with healthy food choices for our family. So we used the organic brown eggs to color the Easter eggs and they came out better than expected!

Eggs colored with food coloring, hot water and lemon juice.

S'meeps time!

I am going to publicly admit one of my guilty pleasures, Peeps! I know you are probably laughing after I write about healthy eggs! Funnier is the healthy New Morning Organic Graham Crackers next to the Hershey's chocolate bars and Peeps in this photo! At least no animals were harmed or mistreated in the making of Peeps! How unhealthy are Peeps? The first ingredient listed is Sugar followed by corn syrup, not healthy at all! They also have artificial dyes and colorings. The good news, Peeps are Gluten-Free (important to someone like me who has a Gluten sensitivity), Fat- Free (0 g of Saturated or Trans Fats!) and only 32.5 calories per Peep/130 Calories per serving (4 Chicks)! Source Livestrong: http://www.livestrong.com/thedailyplate/nutrition-calories/food/peeps/marshmallow-bunnies/ A Healthier snack choice than Lilly Pulitzer Nabisco Animal Crackers but still not a great food choice. Perfect for a treat once in awhile!

Two Peeps in a pod! Making S'meeps!

S'meeps aka S'mores are so easy to make and they are Peepalicious! We assembled our S'meeps as shown above and then put them in the microwave. The fun part is watching the marshmallow Peeps expand and grow in the microwave! My Minnie loves this part! I tried to capture this in a photo but was not quick enough, they deflate pretty quickly! If you have lots of Peeps leftover in those Easter baskets give S'meeps a try! Or have fun making them grow in the microwave.

Bon Appetit! Note The Lilly Pulitzer Lifeguard Press Limeade Floaters melamie plate is not microwave safe, just used this to serve my Minnie who adores this dinnerware.

Another Easter tradition is chocolate fondue Peeps chicks and bunnies! This Easter we sampled all the varieties of Peeps chicks and bunnies. The sugar-free Peeps were better than expected and the new chocolate dipped & chocolate covered Peeps are delicious! Apparently I am not the only person obsessed with Peeps there are many websites dedicated to these delicious marshmallow treats! There are  contests like the annual Diorama Peeps Contest sponsored by the Washington Post, to see these adorable Peep Shows Click Here: http://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/magazine/peeps

Lenox makes the most adorable Peeps Collectible line! To shop the Lenox Peeps Collectibles & Gifts Click HERE

There is even a Peeps Company Store, Where you can buy the Peeps marshmallow bunnies, peeps, stuffed Peeps (like the one in the photo up above)and more! Click HERE to visit! Okay I am all Peeped Out, and swear off Peeps until next Easter!

Don't put all your eggs in one basket! Easter and Lilly go together so of course we made Lilly easter Eggs! So easy with Lilly napkins, Lilly gift wrap and Mod Podge! Yes, I admit I am a decoupageaholic! Here we used plastic eggs  glued shut then covered with Lilly Pulitzer napkins & gift wrap from Lifeguard Press. The napkin wrapped eggs didn't come out as nice as the gift wrapped eggs. The napkins work better on the white styrofoam eggs I have used in the past
