Hello Re-Lilly Readers!

Sorry for the delay in posting the Lilly Giveaway to Celebrate 5000 Re-Lilly Facebook Fans! As most of you know my Minnie, Olivia, got very sick and ended up in the hospital. The last few weeks have been a struggle for our family. While my husband was away on business Olivia got very ill. When DH returned we knew we had to take her to the ER when she was not improving after the office visit with the doctor. 

In the middle of the night/morning we got ready to run out the door and as I was throwing a few necessities into her backpack Olivia insisted that I pack her favorite Lilly dress, her "Cake Dress" aka Lolly Rosette Dress in Let them Eat Cake print. She insisted on wearing one of her other favorite Lilly dresses (Prep Green Hits the Spot Print)to ER and she insisted I wear the matching Clare Dress, who could deny the requests of a sick, sweet 4 year old? 

The matching Lilly dresses were a hit with doctors and nurses in ER. After being admitted to the hospital she insisted on wearing Lilly everyday and refused to wear hospital clothes (already a Fashionista at 4!). After being transferred to CHAD (Children's Hospital at Dartmouth)we kept the "Lilly Cake Dress" in her backpack and promised she could wear it home the day she was released from the hospital. CHAD was such an amazing hospital, we can't say enough great things about the hospital and staff.

Olivia is without a doubt Lilly Pulitzer's BIGGEST LITTLE FAN! Another little thing that helped the time pass in the hospital while my baby laid there in pain was using her "Lilly Pad" as Olivia calls it, aka iPad with Lilly Hotty Pink Bloomers Cover (from Purseladytoo.com, Thank you Sweet Rhonda!). We all laugh when she says, "Can I play a game on the "Lilly Pad"? Long story short she is home and recovering. She is doing very well and we expect her to make a full recovery but still dealing with some of the side effects, like she is afraid to sleep alone at night and her teeth are turning brown/staining from the medications she has to take :( 

I guess in the grand scheme of things we have to look to the positive and feel Blessed that she is okay. Any parent who has had to watch their child in pain and suffering in the hospital knows the gut wrenching pain and heartbreak we felt. It is awful as a parent to watch helplessly as your child is sick and in agony. Olivia not only wore her favorite "Lilly Cake Dress" home from the hospital but previously wore it on her birthday, to meet the Easter Bunny and recently to the opening day at the lake as seen in the photo below. A huge Thank You to Amy at The Joggling Board Lilly Store (https://www.facebook.com/TheJogglingBoard) where Olivia's Favorite "Lilly Cake Dress" came from. Amy is the sweetest and we had planned to visit her at The Joggling Board during our SC trip but had to change plans due to Olivia's illness. 

A quick update on our Chihuahua Bella who got really sick after Olivia got out of the hospital, She is doing much better! Her Liver was attacked with toxins and we may never know the cause, either an infection or she ate something outside she shouldn't have. She is on the mend and we are thankful the vet was able to save her life. We almost lost her :( We are still waiting to hear if DH needs surgery on his arm/wrist from the fall on ice he suffered the end of March, he sees the Neurologist soon. If I don't see a hospital/doctors/nurses for awhile I will be a happy girl!

Surprise! A new look for Re-Lilly!

Hello Readers!

After almost a year and a half and almost 5000 Facebook fans it was time for a new look for Re-Lilly! I have wanted a new logo for awhile and been thinking about it since Re-Lilly turned 1 year and fans suggested a new logo/Facebook profile image. 

I am thrilled to tell you that Re-Lilly got a make-over! Of course it is pink & green & fabulous! What do you think of the new Re-Lilly logo? I hope all fans love it as much as I do!

For Peeps Sake! A BIG Surprise Inside & $150 My Pink & Green Garden Lilly Winner Announced!

Hello Peeps! 

This post is packed with surprises and exciting 

things I can't wait to share with all of you!

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter Holiday! Easter is one of my favorite holidays as it symbolizes rebirth of life. Here in the Northeast I enjoy watching all the plants and flowers come back to life, seeing the empty branches bud with leaves and bulbs begin to bloom. It has been a long hard winter here. We got snow the day before Easter! We still have a little snow in the yard, hard to believe considering Easter came so late this year!

I spent part of Easter planning a warm weather getaway to Hilton Head Island and counting down the days....24 until HHI! If anyone has tips for the HHI area I would love to hear them!

Our family Easter traditions include a visit to the Easter Bunny, coloring Easter eggs, crafts and marshmallow Peeps! What are some of your Easter traditions?

We hunted through all the local grocery stores for white eggs that are Cage-Free, without growth hormones or antibiotics. I had no idea it would be impossible to find them for coloring Easter eggs because we usually buy brown organic eggs that are cage free without hormones and antibiotics. I can no longer support factory farms and the unethical treatment of animals in addition to being concerned with healthy food choices for our family. So we used the organic brown eggs to color the Easter eggs and they came out better than expected!

S'meeps time!

I am going to publicly admit one of my guilty pleasures, Peeps! I know you are probably laughing after I write about healthy eggs! Funnier is the healthy New Morning Organic Graham Crackers next to the Hershey's chocolate bars and Peeps in this photo! At least no animals were harmed or mistreated in the making of Peeps! How unhealthy are Peeps? The first ingredient listed is Sugar followed by corn syrup, not healthy at all! They also have artificial dyes and colorings. The good news, Peeps are Gluten-Free (important to someone like me who has a Gluten sensitivity), Fat- Free (0 g of Saturated or Trans Fats!) and only 32.5 calories per Peep/130 Calories per serving (4 Chicks)! Source Livestrong: http://www.livestrong.com/thedailyplate/nutrition-calories/food/peeps/marshmallow-bunnies/ A Healthier snack choice than Lilly Pulitzer Nabisco Animal Crackers but still not a great food choice. Perfect for a treat once in awhile!

Two Peeps in a pod! Making S'meeps!

S'meeps aka S'mores are so easy to make and they are Peepalicious! We assembled our S'meeps as shown above and then put them in the microwave. The fun part is watching the marshmallow Peeps expand and grow in the microwave! My Minnie loves this part! I tried to capture this in a photo but was not quick enough, they deflate pretty quickly! If you have lots of Peeps leftover in those Easter baskets give S'meeps a try! Or have fun making them grow in the microwave.

Bon Appetit! Note The Lilly Pulitzer Lifeguard Press Limeade Floaters melamie plate is not microwave safe, just used this to serve my Minnie who adores this dinnerware.

Another Easter tradition is chocolate fondue Peeps chicks and bunnies! This Easter we sampled all the varieties of Peeps chicks and bunnies. The sugar-free Peeps were better than expected and the new chocolate dipped & chocolate covered Peeps are delicious! Apparently I am not the only person obsessed with Peeps there are many websites dedicated to these delicious marshmallow treats! Don't put all your eggs in one basket! Easter and Lilly go together so of course we made Lilly easter Eggs! So easy with Lilly napkins, Lilly gift wrap and Mod Podge! Yes, I admit I am a decoupageaholic! Here we used plastic eggs  glued shut then covered with Lilly Pulitzer napkins & gift wrap from Lifeguard Press. The napkin wrapped eggs didn't come out as nice as the gift wrapped eggs. The napkins work better on the white styrofoam eggs I have used in the past.

I asked Irene the creator of My Pink and Green Garden products to please tell us a little about herself, how she became a fan of Lilly and how she started making these beautiful handmade items crafted from Lilly Pulitzer fabrics. Here is Irene's Bio:

"I am a stay-at-home mom of two little boys (6 & 7). When my little guys were growing out of their nurseries , I set out to redecorate and give them big boy theme rooms. Not being able to find exactly what I wanted, I decided to make my own custom décor. I was very happy with the new items that I had created. Friends and family commented how adorable the boys rooms looked and encouraged me to sell my decor online. At that time, I juggled a full time career and family but decided to do this décor thing as a “hobby“.
At that same time, the company I worked for was encouraging me to accept a promotion which would have entailed a big move for our entire family. My husbands career was becoming more demanding so we made the decision that I would put my career on hold, focus on our family and my new online business. And then came Lilly :-)  

A customer who purchased some items for her son, wanted something special for her little girl. She asked if I would make some of my items with a special fabric that she would supply. It was the Palm Beach Floral print. I fell in love with the fabric and Lilly Pulitzers story. I soon purchased my first dress. And my own collection began. My customer was absolutely thrilled with her Palm Beach Floral items and encouraged her friends to contact me to create similar items for them. I’ve met so many wonderful Lilly lovers, really the nicest group of women that I could ever have the pleasure to work with, on projects from dorm room décor, to surprise bedroom makeovers, home offices to nurseries. My youngest is now in Kindergarten and my work at home has been such a success that I have decided to continue to be a stay at home mom and continue with my “hobby” and surround myself with Lilly everyday."
